gravitational love., by Haley Christine

1/23/2024

the most powerful thing
in this world is love
and i’ll say that with my soul

it reminds me so much of gravity
it can transcend through space and time
it can even cross dimensions
it keeps everything going

neither one is ever visible with the naked eye
which i find so fascinating
but here is where love and gravity differentiate

the aftermath

if we lost gravity
every human and object on this planet
would become weightless
the atmosphere would disappear
and the earth's core would expand to the heat of the sun
then we would all die

to love is unfortunately to lose
you do not keep things forever
because i’d keep anything
and everything given the chance

when you lose love
you begin to feel cold
you feel so heavy
the opposite of gravity loss

your eyes are blinded by your own tears
your heart strings pull
did you know that can kill you?

to love is unfortunately to lose
but i hope you have a chance
to love despite the side effects

Hello there! My name is Hayley Christine and I have a special place in my heart for poetry of any genre. I am currently self-published and am working on more to share with the world that I am very excited for! I released my first collection in 2022 called “to all the wrong people” and I quickly found out that I do not
want to stop there. As someone who was born and raised on stories and poems of all kinds, I am so happy to share some of my own creations in this poetry journal! I am thankful you have found me here and hope to see you on my journey as a poet and author.
